Telekom supports talents shaping the world of art, sports, science and technology

Aware of the importance of recognizing and supporting talented young people in various spheres, through the “Telekom with Talents” program, the company is trying to contribute to creating better conditions for their advancement and development. Through this kind of engagement, we encourage the development of young people who will shape the world of art, science, technology and innovations in the future.

In this spirit the company continues to cooperate with the Mathematical High School in Belgrade, a school of special national importance, through support for the participation of students in international competitions and knowledge olympics. For long-term contribution and cooperation, the school granted the “Gold Donor” recognition to Telekom Srbija.

The positive effect of cooperation between a corporate partner and a renowned educational institution is best demonstrated by the success of students of the Mathematical High School, who have won more than 140 medals at international competitions over the past 14 years, only with the support of Telekom Srbija.

With great satisfaction the company especially emphasizes the success of students of this high school who traditionally participate in the Zhautyukov Olympiad in Kazakhstan and return with valuable medals. They also recorded successes at the International Tournament in Mathematical Modelling, held under the auspices of the Advanced Education Science Centre of Moscow State University, as well as at the “Mathematics without Borders” competition in Nessebar in Bulgaria, where our students achieved exceptional results, both in team and individual competitions.

For several years now, Telekom Srbija has been providing support to young talents, who are members of the Regional Centre for Young Talents “Nikola Tesla” for participation in competitions and knowledge olympics in the country and abroad, as well as the organization of the Tesla Global Forum which contributes to the preservation of the legacy and oeuvre of the great scientist.

The company pays close attention to talents in the sphere of art, and so for the eighth time an award was granted to the best students of the Fine Arts Academy in Belgrade, in the New Media department, in recognition of authentic and creative artistic expression in the sphere of new media. In the competition of exceptional achievements, the jury chose the works of two students, Jelena Rendulić for the multimedia installation “Family Days” and Matej Marković for a series of photographs entitled “Who Is to Blame”? The company continuously supports young artists and strives to encourage students with valuable prizes to fully express their creativity and skills through research in contemporary artistic disciplines.

In sports, talents are quickly recognized, and the successful cooperation with the Movement for Women’s Basketball “Marina Maljković” contributes significantly to this end. Free training programs have become available for a large number of girls throughout Serbia. Since the foundation of the “Movement” more than 5,200 girls of elementary school age have had the opportunity to take their first basketball steps on the court and try their hand at this popular sport. Free basketball schools and training programs are organized in Obrenovac, Kosovska Mitrovica, Novi Pazar, Vrnjačka Banja, Požarevac, Apatin, Ćićevac, Pirot, Kraljevo, Raška, Valjevo, Koceljeva, Banja Luka, as well as at 14 locations in Belgrade.
